The HAS Program participates, collaborates, hosts & attends numerous events throughout the year. Some of those events include but are not limited to: Juneteenth, Rondo Days, Urban League Family Day, Soul Essence, Gay Pride, and our very own "Doin It In Da Park" event in recognition for the MN AIDS Walk, as well as various other events that may occur throughout the year.

This was our Back 2 School BBQ event for The City, Inc. students

Our annual "Doin It In Da Park" event.  This event was in collaboration with Marlon Moore from Fremont Clinic, Tremayne Williams from TAMS, Drew Parks from Urban League and Sarah Simmons and Howard Ellis from Turning Point.

Fremont Clinic provided STD testing and Urban League provided HIV OraSure testing.

This was a great event.  Although the weather wasn't the way we expected we had a great turn out!  Lots and lots of people came by got tested and supported our effort.  We handed out over 1000 hotdogs and hamburgers.

We're in the Health Tent at Juneteeth.  Boy...  did we meet a lot of people and pass out a lot of condoms.  CYC Members walked around and handed out hundreds of Safer-Sex Kits and spoke with hundreds of young people.  They had a lot of fun!

Program Coordinator T. and Moma "Chi" take a break to smile for the camera!

Minneapolis Urban League Family Day event, where our Peer Educator/Crew Member Ricky sang "I Believe I Can Fly".

Moma Chi is awarded "Black Woman of the Month"!  And boy... did she deserve it!  You go girl!

Doing lunch with Cutz Squad, Fremont's Outreach workers who walk the streets of North Minneapolis and perform "on the spot" STD testing.

You will see HAS Program's Peer Educators/Check Yo' Self Crew members everywhere.  When the young people become apart of this program they make a committment to always speak to friends, family and associates about the transmission of HIV/AIDS as well as protect themselves.  This is not just a job for us...  it's a lifestyle.  We dedicate ourselves and our lives to stopping the spread of this deadly disease!
